Answer 1

1) The best technique for the application of horror film make-up is to know proper brush stroke techniques when detailing the model.

2) A trained make-up artist with control of the brush will in the end come out with the most exact detailing of the face.  Without proper education the end product will come out sloppy.

  • I have taken 2 courses at Ruby- Make-up Academy and have come in for additional practice. I am currently moving onto my 3rd course and plan on completing more hours. At I-Poly I have taught classes and workshops for make-up, applied make-up for dance team, applied make-up for drama clubs plays and have become there key make-up artist along with S.T.U.D.D. club. The teachers of I-Poly who run the clubs have all offered to verify my assistance.
  • In total I have completed 172 hrs. At Ruby Make-up Academy I completed 144 hrs and 28 hrs at I-Poly campus.

1) What is the best technique used in horror film make-up?
2) When aging a person what is the best technique to use for close ups?
3) Is there a certain work ethic a make-up artist should follow?
4) What's the best way to become an accomplished make-up artist?
5) What application technique is the most tedious and what are the benefits?
6) Is there ever a time when the client as you to use a certain technique and if so is it wise to follow their input?
7) What technique should be used when under a time limit?
8) Is using an alcohol pen sanitary when adding details?
9) What must be done when a client is allergic to make-up? Is there special effects make-up for them? How should it be applied to their sensitive skin?
10) Were should one start when trying to perfect their technique? is it simply just taking on more internships or should it be working in shop?
